I’m not quite sure how many people are familiar with young Sampha but the dude has a voice of Gold. It’s real pure with that british accent attached to it and sounds good on any track. I first peeped dude when he was featuring on SBTRKT’s album. I thought he was apart of the group originally but he’s his own entity. He’s dropped heat here and there but now he has his own album and it’s pretty nice. What I attempted to do with the chops is to screw him down (pause) to an appropriate pitch that would still compliment his vocals. I didn’t wanna take away from the beauty of his voice. A screwed Sampha gives his album a more melancholy taste to it that evokes the emotions more abruptly. If you haven’t dug through his catalog already, go do some soul searching. His music is compelling and dope. Process Chopped & Screwed is here to only add to the excellence given by Sampha himself.
